Dissertation: Design Awareness & Freelance Career
in the Creative Industry
Working on this project, I had the opportunity to research a topic of my interest and critically question new ways of working in creative industries, what it means to be a designer in the 21st century and what are the responsibilities of freelance designers and creatives nowadays. Also looking at designers evolving from a position of decorators to creators of a change and understanding the bigger picture of how design influences the world around us, not only from an aesthetic point of view.
Besides writing the dissertation, I also used the learnt skills to visually accompany the text with illustrations linked to the themes mentioned in the chapters and create a layout that enables the reader to orientate throughout the book and chapters quickly.
